For more than 21 years, I have had the privilege of caring for women through some of the most transformative seasons of their lives - from adolescence to motherhood, midlife changes, and beyond. My career began after graduation from Vanderbilt attending births on the border of Mexico in a birth center, then bicultural community health center in Chicago, home births, rural health in the Deep South, and high risk obstetrics where I learned one essential truth:
